We found an orphanage in Kerela, which presented a unique circumstance – unlike traditional orphanages, this one housed not only children but also adults and the elderly who had been abandoned by their families. Many of them slept on the bare floor, with only a few fortunate ones having metal beds. Determined to make a positive impact, we initiated a campaign to provide mattresses for everyone. Fortunately, our efforts were met with overwhelming generosity, enabling us to raise enough funds to cover mattresses for everyone. Beyond that, we were able to purchase pillows and other essential items, like notebooks, pencils, food and some treats. It was an incredibly rewarding experience to help so many people in need, and every moment of the initiative was filled with a sense of fulfilment. During our time there, we encountered some of the most caring and loving people, making it a profound privilege to contribute positively to their lives. Our aim is to create a better life for as many people as possible, one step at a time. It’s worth it just to see the smile on their faces.
We understand that not every person can be with their loved ones through the festive period so we hope our visit can spread the cheer and put a smile on their faces.
Each year we supply Christmas gifts and treats to every resident in our local nursing home. The nursing home is extremely close to our hearts and we look forward to our visits.
